Be Prepared: Cub Scout Uniform
Being prepared is a big part of Scouting! Here’s what your Cub Scout will need to look sharp and stay ready for adventure.
Cub Scouts, from Lions to Webelos, wear uniform components with slight variations by rank. Neckerchiefs are provided by the pack, while all other uniform items are the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

Cub Scout Six Essentials
For outdoor adventures like hikes and campouts, each Scout should carry these essentials in a small youth-sized backpack (provided by the parent/guardian):
- Filled Water Bottle – Stay hydrated on the trail
- Whistle – For emergencies and signaling help
- Flashlight – To light the way when it gets dark
- Sun Protection – Sunscreen, a hat, or sunglasses
- Trail Mix (or snack) – For energy on the go
- Small First Aid Kit – Be prepared for minor injuries
